Which session suits a maternity shoot

You pay for the length: who’s in the photos doesn’t change the price, and your photographer and the edit come with every session. How long to book comes down to how many outfits you’re bringing, and how long you’re happy on your feet.

When in your pregnancy

At any stage, whenever you feel well. When you book, tell us in the notes how far along you’ll be, and anything we should plan round.

There’s no rush on the day: stop for a rest whenever you like, and your photographer works round it. Your shoot still ends at the time you booked.

A babymoon in Phuket

A babymoon is a trip together before the baby arrives. Book your shoot as “The two of us”, and pick “Babymoon / maternity” as the occasion when you give your details.

Book your shoot for early in your stay. Your shoot goes ahead whatever the weather: it’s out of our control, so checking the forecast is up to you, and rain doesn’t change what we refund. The weather guarantee (฿350) is the way round that: if rain threatens, it lets you move your shoot once, free, to one of the days you have left.

If your plans change

Cancel 72 hours or more ahead for 90% back, 24 hours or more for 50%. A shoot that has been moved can’t be refunded.

On your own, with your partner, or with your children

On your own: pick “Just me” when the booking page asks who’s in the photos, and “Maternity” as the occasion. Book as “Just me”

With your partner: pick “The two of us”, and “Babymoon / maternity”. Book as “The two of us”

With your children: pick “Family” and say how many of you are coming. Same price, however many of you. We only ever publish a child’s photo with a parent’s or guardian’s agreement, asked for separately. Book as “Family”

A baby shower or a gender reveal at your villa? We photograph those too: pick “A group”, then “Something else” as the occasion, and tell us the plan in the notes. For 20 or more of you we recommend a second photographer.

At your hotel or villa, on a beach, or both

A shoot at your hotel or villa keeps travel to a minimum, with your room close by between photos.

• Your hotel or villa: we meet you at your room or in the lobby, whichever you choose when you book, and any short session can be booked there.
• Then a beach nearby, on The Golden Evening, at no extra cost. Start at your hotel or villa, then finish at a beach close by: about an hour at each. Getting there comes out of your shoot time, so it suits places a short walk or drive from the beach.
• A place you choose: a beach or a viewpoint of your own, wherever it is on Phuket.
• Phuket Old Town: a shoot of its own, 90–120 minutes by car from the west-coast beaches, so worth weighing if a long drive tires you.

Some hotels keep outside photographers out, or to certain spots, so check with yours before you book. If it says no, tell us and we’ll suggest somewhere close.

The photos on this page come from our own maternity shoots: a couple’s, at their villa and on a beach, and a mother’s own, in a garden.

Hair and makeup first

Our makeup artists come to your hotel or villa and do your hair and makeup before your photos: a photoshoot look, not bridal. It’s ฿5,900 for you alone, or ฿3,900 each when more of you have it, up to 4 people.

About an hour per person, one after another, finishing as your photographer arrives. We offer it only on a short session that starts at your hotel or villa, when our artists are free at your time: add it when you book, for any day but today, or later from your booking page until 24 hours before we meet you.

The golden hour, out of the midday sun

For the light, take the start the booking page suggests: it finishes your shoot 15 minutes after sunset on your date. With sunset between 18:04 in November and 18:48 in July, the suggested start through the year is:

• The Mini Session: starting between 17:19 and 18:03, depending on the month
• The Signature Session: starting between 16:19 and 17:03, depending on the month
• The Golden Evening: starting between 15:19 and 16:03, depending on the month

Mornings work too: the first start of the day is 06:00, every shoot finishes by 21:00, and the time of day never changes the price. We need 6 hours’ notice, and booking for today adds a ฿2,500 same-day fee.

Booking, and what you get

• You book online and pay on Stripe’s own pages, and you’re booked once you’ve paid. Every add-on your shoot can take is shown before you pay, nothing ticked, and most can be added later from your booking page.
• Your photographer is one of our selected team of English-speaking photographers, used to working with guests from many countries. We introduce them on WhatsApp an hour before we meet you, with their own number, and we meet you 20 minutes before your start, so the time you booked is all in front of the camera.
• After a short session your online gallery arrives in 3–5 days, every photo edited by hand in our own colour; “same-day delivery” (฿1,500) brings it the same day. It’s online for 90 days, and “keep your gallery forever” (฿190) keeps it there for good.
• A maternity shoot is personal, so if you’d rather none of your photos are ever shown, tick “Please keep our photos private” when you book. Otherwise we may use a few frames from your shoot on this website, on Instagram and in ads, and you can change your mind at any time.
